Below are links to two ring palindromes and three palindrome poems from the novel (click here for a synopsis). The central image of the novel also inspired two conventional poems. A Midnight Sun can be thought of as the father’s grieving attempt to save his daughter from the waves. A View of the Cliffs is from the perspective of a higher-dimensional being, and can perhaps be seen as a satire on our own attempts to reconstruct entire civiliations and world views on the basis of a few bits of broken pot.
